Class Description:
I think that technology is definitely a huge part of our soceity . Technology such as the Alpha Smart boards will serve as a great benefit to my students in every subject area that they encounter in the first grade. Alpha Smart Boards can be used by students to type their stories, with science journaling, math problem solving, to develop their writing ideas, and definitely their technology skills. Being able to upload a file, make changes, insert pictures, and edit will give the students a head start to the technological world. It may give them a greater since of "ownership" and pride in their work. Just think of how a student feels after seeing what he/she can accomplish with the use and knowledge of technology.

About Me:
I have a great passion for teaching children and helping them realize their full potential. I have a lot of positive energy, sometimes more than my students. I believe that every child has the need and want to learn and achieve. I absolutely love going to work everyday and cannot wait to attack the next learning and teaching moment. I have 4 wonderful children ages 7, 9, 12, and 15. I am so very proud of all of them. They excel in their academics as well as in sports. They are the greatest and are the reason that I became a teacher. It was through them that I realized first hand that there is more than one way to think, learn, wiew things, and be taught. They have totally helped me with the way that I see and view education. I do my best to teach towards every learner in my classroom, in the way that they need to be taught or shown things.
College and Degrees:
I attended the University Of Houston and received my degree in education.
Activities:
I love sports, all sports. I try to exercise weekly and eat healthy. I mostly stay busy driving and watching my children play their sports 6 days a week. I volunteer for my sons High School Tennis Booster Club and enjoy raising money for the organization.
Favorite Books:
I have to say that I read a lot of childrens books. I have a 7 and 9 year old and we read every evening. I love reading childrens books.

Interests:
Watching and cheering for my son at tennis matches, seeing how my other son gets the greatest feeling when he shoots his basketball and then looks over at me and knows that I am proud of him, playing catch and getting really excited watching my youngest son play baseball,and watching my daughter at dance. My children are my interst and my life.
Employment History:
I have been teaching for 2 years now. I was a stay at home mom and educated my children in their early years. When they were all school age, I decided to go back to school and persue a degree in education.
Why Do I Teach?:
My children are the reason that I became a teacher. It was through them that I realized first hand that there is more than one way to think, learn, view things, and be taught. They have totally helped me with the way that I see,differentiateand view education. I do my best to teach towards every learner in my classroom, in the way that they need to be taught or shown things. Being able to educate, make a difference, and the love of children is the reason I chose to commit myself and stay in education. I learn someting new everyday from my students. The students are the greatest reward in teaching.
