Class Description:
My room is on the second story of our school. I have a jungle theme in the class. Students sit at tables to make it easier to do projects and hands on activities.
Position:
third grade teacher
Needs:
Our school is in need of technology. We only have a computer lab for the K-1 age group. The older students (grades 2-5) are in need of a portable lap-top lab because of the lack of space. We are also in need of ELMOs and Projectors for the class rooms. Several teachers have received grants or used national board money to get their own Elmos and projectors, for those of us who have not they would be greatly appreciated. I am also worried becasue we are told that teachers will not be receiving classroom money next year so any thing will help. We need ink cartridges for our printers, copy paper, white board markers, and construction paper.
My Philosophy:
I think all students can learn and need the right to be themselves. We can learn by doing. I love my students, even the difficult ones. (Those are usually the ones that touch my heart even more.)

About Me:
I am 29 and have been teaching at Julian Haris for 3.5 years. I love my school. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was four.
College and Degrees:
I graduated from Athens State University with a teaching degree in May 2001.
Activities:
I am active in my church and love spending time with my family.
Favorite Books:
I love almost all Children's Literature. I am usually found reading children books so that I will have a wide variety of books to expose my students to.

Interests:
I am interested in children, reading, photography, reading. I love life and exploring it.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love helping children figure things out. I love seeign the light bulbs go off in their heads. I also love my job because I learn so much from my students every day. Each day is unique and exciting because with children you never know what the day will hold.
