Class Information:
Room Number: 2014
Students per Class: 175
Class Description:
Room 2014 is a highly transited room since students from Middle School come to learn Spanish and French as a Foreign Language. We are school with an international focus and so our class is very busy all the time and engaged in many projects to learn about the world at the same time we learn and practice Spanish/French. There are about 175 students that come daily and they love using technology as a means to learn.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
My school student population is very diverse and we do have a high number of free and reduced lunch students as well as homeless students. Therefore, the resources they have at home and around them are limited and they do not always have the same equal opportunities to access learning through more modern means such as technology unless we bring it to them in school. It is my mission as a teacher to provide them with as many meaningful opportunities to learn how to learn, explore the world through different eyes as they learn another language, which, will translate in academic and personal success in life.
My Philosophy:
Technology is a great means to learn mostly anything and it is super engaging! I believe my students need to be prepared for the times we live in, a society of information and technology that is demanding and challenging. Therefore, my students need to be able to be critical thinkers that can speak other languages in addition to English and that can embrace and use 21st century literacy and learning skills that will make them better citizens of the world, competent, academically successful and more efficient when they become part of the workforce.
