Class Description:
I teach general art classes for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. In my art class we focus on a wide rang of art materials, including, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. In the last couple years I have received a few grants to start getting some technology equipment, such as digital cameras, memory cards and a photo printer. My students have started to do some work with the digital photo equipment. Students really seem to love getting the chance to work with photography in art class, as it is rather different from all else we do, and more modern!
Position:
visual arts teacher
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love the visual arts field, and I love working with kids even more. I have found that the middle school age is very rewarding. The students need you to be there and help to support them, but at the same time they are becoming rather independent. The fact that I get to go to work everyday and create, as well as help others to create art is amazing. I feel very fortunate to be doing something that I love so much every day!
