Class Information:
Room Number: 564
Students per Class: 100
Position:
6th Grade Science Teacher
Needs:
I would like to increase my use of technology in the classroom. However, I want the use of technology to enhance meaningful student learning in life and environmental science. The Flip is a perfect, user-friendly technology that can be easily and effectively used by my sixth grade students to motivate and upgrade student interaction and learning.
My Philosophy:
Science is a process not a product. In order to truly learn science, you have to experience it. Your child will have the opportunity to actively participate in inquiry-based, problem-based, multidisciplinarylearning. They will ask thoughtful questions that address community needs, seek answers to their questions through meaningful research and investigation, and effectively communicate their findings to a relevant audience. They will work cooperatively with others to meet common goals, actively listen to the thoughts and opinions of others, and respect and embrace the variety of people and ideas that share their world. I believe that children can be self-motivators when given the opportunity to take charge of their own learning with structured guidance from a teacher. My main goal is to help my students begin to engage in a process of life-long learning that is consistently fun, motivational, and challenging. Meaningful learning will help them move forward in a positive direction towards new experiences, people, and higher levels of maturity and personal growth.
