Class Description:
I have 22 of the best and brighest kids. They are truly great and creative. I teach the kids that are considered Gifted and Talented. I teach all subject areas and my kids stay with me all day-which is unusual for the fifth grade. They always keep me on my toes with the lastest technology and how to use it.

Needs:
We need digital cameras, podcasting tools, scanners, printers, and software to challenge ourselves to use technology in all of our lessons and create our own webpages and post our projects and podcasts online for everyone to view-We are very excited to get started this year.

About Me:
I am a mother of two wonderful girls-Madeline who is 4 yrs. old and Ella who is five months old. My husband is Wayne and he is a technology teacher and baseball coach at the High School in Orange. My mom is the technology coordinator for Region 5 in Texas and keeps me up to date with the lastest educational uses for technology.
College and Degrees:
I have a Bachelor of Science in InterdisciplinaryStudies with a specialization in Biology
Activities:
I love to shop with my girls and watch movies with my family. I like to play softball and enjoy just hanging out with my family.

Gregor the Overlander series-of course most of the books I read are the ones I will be reading with my students or that they have recommended to me.

Employment History:
I taught 6th grade science for 3 years and this is my 4th year to teach 5th grade-all subjects with the G/T class
Why Do I Teach?:
I believe that teaching is what I was meant to do. I find myself also wanting to help kids understand why. I come from a family of teachers. My favorite part of the day is when you see the light bulb go off and a student understands a concept they have been struggling with-that is a great day:)
