I teach World History at McKinney North High School. I teach kids from all backgrounds. They are wonderfully amazing kids and I am blessed to get to work with them every day.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy is pretty easy to explain. I think my kiddos deserve someone who wants to teach them, someone who cares about them, and someone who will hold them accountable for their choices.... all wrapped up in a big ol' hug. I'm borrowing from Nanny McPhee but it's so true "When you need me but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me but no longer need me, then I have to go." As a high school teacher, my students can be less than enthusiastic about entering my class on the first day of school. Hopefully, by the last day of class, when they realize that I love them, that their brains truly are capable of learning, and that they really CAN achieve amazing things, they will not want to leave. If I do my job right, my students grow more independent and more certain of their own worth. I become "the lady that taught-them-that-one-time",they become the success.
