Class Description:
I teach in a school that is transitioning to include more and more low-income, special education, and second language students. However, our budget has not adjusted to meet these new needs so we are always on the hunt for ways to not be "victims" of these issues.

In the school my passions bleed over to my students. We incorporate reading and community service into almost every subject. I also sponsor the school reading club and KKids (Kiwanis service club for kids).
Favorite Books:
I prefer fiction both when I read for enjoyment and when I read to my students. I prefer books with thoughtful, caring characters and moral lessons. Personally my favorite books are too numerous to list but include the "Yada Yada" series. My favorite children's book to use in the classroom might be "I Wish I Were A Butterfly".
