Class Description:
Students range in grades 10-12, diversified populace(60% being Hispanic, 40% African American) poverty level, 98% applicable for free/reduced lunch.
Position:
English Teacher/BroadcastCoordinator
Needs:
need opportunity and equipment to work with digital media. We have two computer labs but those are used by the computer teachers who teach basic computer skills. and a library with computers but those are all signed out for other classrooms. We need a set of laptops so that students can work with digital media.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy is that all children can learn but they need access to educational media that will prepare them for the world of tele-communication.Without those skills, they will be left behind in the job workforce.

About Me:
I have been teaching English for 8 years and am really interested in broadening our program at school to entail digital media
College and Degrees:
University of Illinois at Chicago - English Instruction NationalLouis University- Technology in education MA Illinois Institute of Art -certificate program in 3D animation IllinoisCenter for Broadcasting-majorin television production, minor in radio production.
Activities:
Broadcast media, started a radio program at my school and am looking to expand it and my video club.
Interests:
videography, motion graphics, special effects, 3D animation
Why Do I Teach?:
To prepare students for the world right now and that of tommorrow. They need to be aware that they need to be aware of the world around them and develop appropriate skills to communicate effectively, whether that be on paper or the telecommunicative\digital realm.
