My Philosophy:
The more my students TOUCH, DO, SEE, and INTERACT the better they are. I've taught for 38 years ,and ,yes ,have seen many changes. (FOR THE BETTER) Our kids live in this world that is fast and electronic. My school has lots of at-risk students. I need to be able to give them EXPERIENCES they do not get anywhere else. I need for them to WANT to come to class and learn math. It has to be exciting. I cannot put on a yellow BIG BIRD suit to capture their attention the way the SMARTboard does. It has captured my attention too! I just want all good things for my kids. I use technology any time I can in the room. I am one of our districts' TECH SCHOLARS because of my interest and technology use in the classroom. Our district has helped us out so much in the last few years it would be nice to be able to continue to improve what we have now with new items.

Born and raised in WV. Taught 27.5 years in Hancock County. Moved to TX in 1998 and have been here in the Chapel Hill district for 10 years.

West Liberty State College 1967-1971 Public Schools Degree (1-12) with Elementary Self Contained (1-8)and home econominc (7-12) West Virginia University 1971-1978 part-time M.A. Elementary Education 1-8
