Class Description:
I work at four different schools with Mariam Boyd being my home school (Actually the only locked room I have). I share a class with one of the Music teachers at one school, and I share with the ESL,Spanish, and OT at another school. I have small rooms at two of the schools so I also use the libraries and computer labs and at one site the science lab to teach my students. I hit the ground rolling with my crate, bags and resources:)

Personal Information:
About Me:
I became a teacher when I was 33 because I traveled across the United States first to acquire life experiences before becoming a mother. I waited until my youngest child was in Kindergarten before I went back to school and then was given the opportunity to raise another child (got a 3 year old child when I was 40.
College and Degrees:
I have an Associates in Early Education, a Bachelors of Art in Elementary Education with a minor in math and science; a Masters in Special Needs of Elementary Education. I am also ESL certified and Gifted Certified.

I love gardening, walking, writing, and reading.
Employment History:
I taught 15 years in AZ, 6 years on the Navajo Reservation(4th grade), 3 years at an inner-city school in Tucson(4th/5th), and 6 years at a school located on the back side of the Catalina Mountains(3rd/4th).I relocated to NC and taught three years inner-city(3rd), six years in a rural third grade classroom, and now in that same district I am into my second year teaching the gifted at four schools.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want to make a difference and because I love seeing brains empowered.
