Class Description:
My AP Environmental Science classroom is approximately 30-60 sophomores, juniors and seniors who are learning about the world we live in and our place in it. Environmental Systems is the same type of course, while the material is slightly less intense and is not geared towards an AP exam. Biology is a course for freshmen where we learn about the basic scientific processes that govern the living world.

Needs:
We could use two more computers as all three of my courses have electronic labs (either virtual labs or using probe software that requires a computer) as well as a good research station for projects. We also need digital cameras to record the alternative energy building project we are conducting this year as well as our numerous field studies and trips to various energy facilities and plants.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy is to teach students about the world they live in and their connection to is so that they will grow to be well-informed decision makers and citizens. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in their learning and as such I try to give the students as many hands-on activities, labs and projects as possible in all courses. I also believe that all students should be given the chance to succeed, and that it is their choices as a student within my class that determines how much they take away.
