Class Description:
My classroom is the library. It is an average size for a school library, although I would prefer it be larger with a computer lab and small group meeting rooms.
Needs:
The library has no technology available to students other than a few computers with Internet. I would love to have lap tops available for students to use within the library, digital cameras for students/teachersto check out and use, a digital video camera, and an Apple computer or two to create podcasts with. I recently attended a couple mini workshops on creating podcasts.
My Philosophy:
Students should have access to technology at school. Some may not be able to afford it at home. They need to know about it and use it. Technology is becoming more and more important. Students have to be able to use technology and keep up with the changes. Schools are places to experience and learn. What better place than the library with its free information and hopefully soon, added technology.
