Class Information:
Room Number: 101
Students per Class: 17
Class Description:
NYS Regents Physics class.
Position:
Physics Teacher/TechnologyCoordinator
Needs:
I am trying to accumulate enough sets of lab equipment so students can work in groups of twos or threes. For many of the labs, the kids need to work in groups of 4-5 and sometimes I only have two working sets so kids split into two large groups. This means some kids don't learn how to handle the equipment and can stay academically uninvolved in the lab.
My Philosophy:
I believe in introductory Physics that the material should be presented and the labs designed so the basic Physics becomes obvious. A lot of high tech labs remove the student from the observing and measuring process and obscure the physical phenomena being studied. Students also need to learn collaboration and communications skills.
