Class Description:
I teach a regular education first grade classroom. For the first time in 14 years, I have more girls than boys. Our school is a Title I school with very low socio-economic averages. We have had budget cuts for the last several years and could have another this year. I am hoping that this organization will allow my classroom to expierence technology that they may not have a chance to encounter otherwise. Thank you for this site.

About Me:
I am 37 years old and have been teaching for 14 years. I am a 3 year breast cancer survivor who is married with 2 kids. I love hunting adn fishing and am very involved with our local Boy Scout Troop where I am an assistans scoutmaster. I have worked with the scouts for 8 years.
College and Degrees:
Graduate of Lamar University with a degree in Kinesiology. I have since earned my certifications in Master Reading Teacher, ESL, health, and ELementary Comp. I am also in the process of earning my Dyslexia Therapist Certificate from Neuhaus Education Center.

Employment History:
I worked for Kirbyville ISD for my first 2 years and have been with Silsbee ISD for the past 12 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love children. I love to see those "light bulb moments" when all of a sudden they understand a new concept and every once in a while, a student comes back and tells you how you made a difference.
