Position:
6th Grade English
Needs:
My students have a variety of needs. These needs change every year with each new class. One thing never changes. Students want to be involved, inspired, and have some fun while learning.
My Philosophy:
I believe that teachers hold one of the most influential positions in the world; therefore, teachers must be superhuman. As a teacher, I must be all things to all students, and the only way to get close to reaching this lofty goal is to know my students. I must learn everything about them. I need to know their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, and anything else that influences their ability to learn. I also believe in continuing education, and not because Act 48 says I should, but because I want and need to learn. I believe in capitalizing on students' strengths, interests, and new professional knowledge because the day a teacher stops learning new things and implementing them in the classroom, is the beginning of the end in influencing the future. I teach to influence the future. Being a teacher with no influence would be a travesty.

I teach because I must. Without teaching, I would not be influencing the future, empowering others, sharing ideas, or learning, and I could not live happily without teaching.
