Class Description:
Students are children with autism 1st-5th grade. The school is in a low income area. The cooperative I work for has limited funds for classroom materials
Position:
special ed teacher
Needs:
Digital camera to document community outings. The photos are then used to create a scrapbook/storybookabout the students and what they did on the outing. The students can then look at the book throughout the entire year. Portable DVD player will be used for extending reading and math classes. It will also be used to integrate calming exercises for the students to help them relax throughout the day.
My Philosophy:
I believe all students can learn to communicate. I have several students that have minimal language and speech. ALthough it is a need for them I believe they can communicate in various formats.
