Class Description:
Una has a very diverse population with many students speaking English as a second language. We are a large school serving 850 students in grades K-4.
Position:
classroom teacher
Needs:
We are in need of new computers. Our district has switched from Macs to PCs and will no longer repair our machines unless they are PCs. We are losing machines as they age every year. In the present budget crunch, there isn't money available to replace them.
My Philosophy:
Every child in my class deserves a curriculum that has been differentiated to meet his/her needs and build upon his/her strengths. Each child should be met at his/her present skill level and taken as far as possible by offering many avenues to reach the goal. Lessons must vary in the intelligences addressed and the modalities used in presenting the material. Each child must be given the time needed to master curriculum standards.
