Class Description:
This is a Gifted and Talented class with questions far beyond many fourth grade students. They are constantly asking why, how, when, etc. We are in a Title 1 school with limited resources to purchase materials to answer some of these questions. The majority of the computers available to the students cannot access the internet for research. I also use the Reading Counts program by Scholastic to encourage my students to become better readers. This program also requires computer access.

About Me:
This is my 30th year of teaching.
College and Degrees:
I have a bachelors degree from SUNY Geneseo in New York and a masters degree in library science from Sam Houston State University in Texas.
Employment History:
I have spent 27 years in the Aldine Independent School district, a Title 1 school district. I have taught first, third, and fourth grade. I have also worked as an elementary school librarian.
Why Do I Teach?:
I decided to teach when I was in third grade. I never considered any other career. I have found it to be a very fulfilling life. The look on a child's face when he/she finally understands a concept makes the difficulties teachers face worthwhile.
