Class Description:
I teach reading, math, and language arts to children who are receiving special education services on a resource basis. Most of them are bright children whose unique learning styles cause them to need specialized instructional techniques in order to master those academic skills which are vital to their ultimate success in adulthood. Some face greater challenges, such as intellectual disabilities or health impairments. A few are newcomers to our country whose families are not yet able to speak and write proficiently in English. All of my students are eager learners who appreciate any support they are given from teachers and other caring individuals.
Position:
Special Education Teacher
Needs:
My class needs a document reader for use with our Smart Board. This would enable students to display their compositions on the Smart Board so that their classmates could help them to find mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization so that everybody could work together to make corrections and find better ways to express ideas.
My Philosophy:
A child is the most potent force on earth because he/she wields the power to change the future.
