Class Description:
In my classroom, I have 4 refurbished student computers and my teacher station. With the world becoming more and more technologically savvy, I need more options for my kids who come in knowing so much more about computers and electronics than ever before.
Position:
Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
Needs:
Coming into Kindergarten, children are on several different levels. With the leapster handheld programs, children get a one on one learning interaction that can be used during center time as an alternative to worksheets. I would also like to have a digital camera of any kind because being in a Title 1 school many kids don't purchase school pictures or really have any memory books, etc., and with a camera, I would be able to give that to them by taking pictures throughout the year of important activities and classroom parties, playground time, friends, artwork, etc. My students would benefit from being given ANYTHING.

About Me:
I am a first year Kindergarten teacher teaching in the same school that I attended and grew up in with both of my parents being teachers.
Activities:
I teach Kindergarten and coach the Middle School Boys basketball team that my dad coached for 20 years before passing away summer before last.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love children and I love the inquisitiveness of their minds and their want to learn something new each and every day. The reaction on their faces when they understand something new is priceless, and now nearing the end of my first year, going back and looking on progress made has made every day worth while. Teaching to me is not a job or a career - it is something that I love and enjoy getting up for each day.
