My Philosophy:
The reason I became a teacher after numerous successful careers is because hardly anybody uses their turn signals anymore. Let me explain: When I was a kid learning to drive, I was told that you must always use your turn signals when switching lanes or making a turn. The reason one does this is because it lets the other guy/gal know what you are doing so they can react safely & accordingly. It’s a courtesy thing really. Too many people are wrapped up in their own world, talking on their cell phones, distracted, not aware of others. They end up swerving into each others lanes abruptly. It ends up creating negative energy. It takes minimal effort to be nice and let someone know you are entering their lane by using your turn signal. Courtesy is a reoccurring theme in this classroom, as it is my #1 priority in life. There are too many bad things that go on in this world. Most of these would be prevented if people were courteous to one another. I have no tolerance for rude behavior. My classroom is a happy environment where we all feel safe. Safe to ask questions, safe to share opinions, safe to be wrong once in a while. We are all in this together. We listen to each other and give each other respect. I realize it’s a two way street. I give my students respect and expect it in return. We are courteous to each other in my classroom. In other words, we use our turn signals
