Class Information:
Room Number: Library
Class Description:
The library services all students in the school, from grades Nursery to 8. Supporting the curriculum and encouraging leisure reading, the library serves the student population during school activities (i.e., research and class-based activities) and leisure (i.e., fiction or other books for pleasure reading).
Position:
Librarian
Needs:
The library is in need of software, technology, and other materials to encourage and support student learning through literature and other information sources.
My Philosophy:
Students are partners in the learning experience, along with teachers, administrators, and librarians. It is only when working in collaboration on the building of knowledge that one can truly learn something new.
Personal Information:
About Me:
A parent of two and wife of one, I have found that I never stop learning, nor do I ever want to stop. I learn from everyone I interact with - there's no person who can't teach me something.
College and Degrees:
Having earned an M.L.S. from Queens College, I decided to go on and earn my Advanced Certificate so that I could learn even more about Library Science. This wasn't enough for me, I wanted to know more about technology, so I enrolled at the University of Missouri-Columbiaand earned my M.Ed. in Educational Technology, followed by my Ed.S. in Educational Technology, while also enrolling in classes to further my knowledge-base in Library Science. This wasn't enough for me, so I went on to Touro University International, where I earned a Ph.D. in E-Learning Administration. Of course, this all started with my B.A. in Multi-DisciplinaryStudies at SUNY Stony Brook, where I focused on Theatre Arts and Judaic Studies.
Activities:
Reading, crocheting, cross-stitch, aand learning.
Favorite Books:
Whatever I'm currently reading, generally.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love to learn, and want to share this enjoyment with others so that they too realize that learning is not the same as taking a test.
