Class Description:
I teach Technology to Grades 1-5. Our district has adopted the ICT Digital Portfolio, and I work with the teachers to create meaningful, curriculum based, artifacts through technology integration. I introduce the students to technology, beginning with parts of the computer through slideshows and brochure creation.
Position:
Technology Assistant
Needs:
Digital cameras for the students to use to capture their own images to use in their work.
My Philosophy:
I never miss an opportunity to teach, and I take into account that different students learn in different ways. Whether taking the time to dismiss a class by even/odd numbers or finding websites like www.freerice.com that teach while allowing the students to invest themselves by also performing a good deed, I am always making sure that my students are presented with opportunities to learn.

Employment History:
Before I had children, I was the director of an outpatient mental health center. I quit to raise my family before finding teaching as a more fulfilling career.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach for the "light-bulb" smiles. When a student has a breakthrough, and really understands something he/she has been struggling with, they get a smile that shines like a 100 watt bulb. Those smiles make my day!
