My Philosophy:
Philosophy of Education A philosophy of education is a critical element in his or her approach to guiding children along the path of enlightenment. The philosophy of education is a statement and how the statements relate to education by commitment to life-long learning, commitment to the learner, aptitude for reflection, and aptitude for technology integration. Commitmentto life-long learning The life-long learning is defined as to keep learning each and every day no matter what age you may be. Education should provide students with the skills and proficiencies needed to succeed academically and in society. Education should expose students to core knowledge and concepts in the curriculum provide diversity of viewpoints, and ensuring that students gain familiarity with the courses in the curriculum. Education can identify life-long learning’s importance in teaching and learning. Education is very important because if you are not educated correctly then how can you teach others. One must be properly educated in order to properly educate others. Education should target the students thinking and communication skills as they attempt to understand trends and problems, and encourages students to discover new interests for life-long learning. Education can identify life-long learning relevance to teachers and students. Education plays a major role in learning. One must be well educated and possess comprehension and understanding of the material that is being taught. Teachers and students must understand the importance of education is in our society. Commitmentto the learner The commitment to the learner is a necessity. The significance of a teacher’s commitment to his or her students is a teacher who is making a connection in one way or another with each and every student. A dedicated teacher is one who inspires learning to students. If you have a teacher who is not inspiring the students the students will not strive for excellence or try their hardest. It is very important that each and every teacher on a daily basis inspire their students to try to the highest potential each and every day. The importance of the teacher-student relationship is bonding. When teacher and students have a bond it is very helpful for the teacher to find the areas of weakness and strengths. These days it is very important for this teacher-student bond, for students as well as the teachers to feel comfortable to come to you as a student or teacher with any concerns and questions. This is a two way relationship or bond that is very important in today’s society. Aptitudefor reflection A reflective practitioner is defined as a person who looks back upon something that may have happened previously. Teachers should continuously evaluate and reevaluate themselves each and everyday. The significance of a teacher reflecting on his or her teaching and its effect on student learning is very important for the students and the teacher. Students’ learning is promoted if students can understand and comprehend what the teacher is teaching. Aptitude for technology integration Therole I believe technology should play in teaching and learning is very pushed among teaching but with a lack of funding to provide these technology devices. I believe more and more technology plays a vital role in society more and more each and every day. You cannot get rid of all the “old school” teaching methods because they are the framework for education today. Teachers must incorporate the old and the new methods of teaching into their curriculum. Students need to use the “old way” to learn the basics but students need to learn the “new way” to make in everyday society. You do not want students solely to depend on the technology but there might be times the students will need to know how to do something without the use of technology. There are positive and negative concerns / issues dealing with technology. Some positive technology issues/concerns would be writing assignment, typing assignments, note taking, education, and knowledge and so on. Some negative concerns would be inhibiting students learning achievement, to easy acquiring the knowledge, cheating, and plagiarism and so on. Technology is great if it used as an instrument / tool and not a way of life. In conclusion, education is very important as well as critical in today’s society. Each and every educator wants each and every child to reach his or her very highest potential. When students follow the educational path they are given the entire basic framework that they will need to achieve their highest potential. It is my hope as I impart the knowledge needed, and inspire and motivate each and every student that I come in contact with each day. This is a challenge that I look forward to meeting.
