Needs:
We are a town of approximately 18,000. Our vocational education school extends its reach to surrounding communities with high school students. In total we are serving seven communities including ourselves. In Machine Tool we are unsuccessfully attempting to teach students CNC control with a 1984 Bridgeport Boss 8. Most of our students were born in 1991 and 1992 clearly indicating that a change is long overdue. We are unable to perform any rapid Z axis moves with the machine. This impairs our ability to teach even the simple task of drilling a hole. Centroid control offers an upgrade for the Bridgeport machines (M-400S DC) with a price tag of $9,995 uninstalled. With the help of local industry maintenance technicians we can avoid the cost of installation which is estimated at $2,000-$3,000. We sure could use a helping hand with this big project. Any or all of the cost could be pledged to help fund this project. Thank you for helping communities in need.
