Class Description:
I teach all day/everyday kindergarten. Most of my students come from low socio-economic households. I also have 10 ELL (English Language Learner) students in my classroom. 22 out of my 24 students receive sack suppers to take home each night so they will have something to eat for dinner. Despite all of this, my kids come in each morning very eager to learn!

Needs:
I would like 2 Apple ipads to use during Language Arts & Math centers. There are many apps available for the ipads that would make learning fun and interactive. My students could work on reading and writing letters and numbers. They can write their own stories and listen to stories being read to them!
My Philosophy:
Each student deserves the best education possible. I work hard to make sure each of my students' individual needs are met so they feel successful and are excited about learning.

I graduated from Albion College and have a masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Valley State University.
Employment History:
I have taught in Godwin Heights Public Schools for 12 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because everyday I walk into my classroom I feel like I'm making a difference in the lives of my kids. We celebrate every accomplishment no matter how big or small and I love to see their excitement for learning!
