Class Description:
I work in a co-taught classroom in both language arts and math. Class size is about 35 students. I work with the 9 special needs students who are included in these classrooms. I also teacher a skill building class of about 10 special need students in reading and math skills.
Position:
Special Education Teacher
Needs:
80% of my students have dysgraphia, which prevents them from writing fluently. I need Netbooks so students can type applying word prediction software. Dell Netbooks provides a need to be engaged and motivated to write.
My Philosophy:
I believe students with disabilities are capable of reaching their full potential when they are included in every learning environment that is provided for non-disabled students. How will ensure inclusion is successful is by providing whatever accommodation is necessary to allow students with learning disabilities full access to any curriculum.

About Me:
I am a 6th grade Special Education Teacher. I have taught in both lower income and middle class income schools. In each setting I have been dedicated to find effective ways to have students with special needs to participate as equal members of their schools.

BA in Anthropology from Pennsylvania State University MA in Special Education from University of Colorado in Denver
