1. As a whole group, brainstorm a list of questions we should ask our partners in order to get to know them better.
2. Partners take turns interviewing each other using the questions the class came up with.
3. Each student will write a paragraph about their partner using the information they received from the interview.
4. Take picture with a digital camera.
5. Take class to the Learning Resource Center computer lab. Each person will create a slide, using Power Point, about their partner.
6. Upload pictures from the digital camera into each students slide.
7. Use the student-created Power Point presentatin at the Family Open House.
Comments
This is a great 'get-to-know-you' activity for the beginning of the year that also has authentic learning activities. The slides the students create could be made simpler for younger children, or more detailed for older kids. The presentation could also be printed out and a book created for the classroom library.
