National Standards:
Content Standard#1:Understanding and applying media, technique and processes.
Content Standard#3:Using knowledge andstructures and functions.
Content Standard#4:Understanding the visual arts in relation to history and cultures.

Objectives:
<Students will be introduced to at least one culture or two at each continent we stop at and learn about the it's people.
<Students will be introduce to people language, demographics of the region,rain forest,industry that is produced in that country, music and especially visual arts.
<After learning about the country we visit, student will write of their experience in their journals(As a log).

Directions:
1) Introduce students to geography and cultures of the world. Travel one continent a month. Students will research the contient for the month. The will research industry, language, manufacter, import and export items
2) Study longitude and latitude of the country. Look at maps of the continent.What product do they produce. Do they import or export with America?And, what?
3)We will have a speaker from the community share with student their culture, dance or a story.
4) We finish off out study with Visual art from that country and project along with our writing journal of our visit to that country. Student will creatively write about the country they visited.
Comments
I would like any assisitance that I can receive to make this Thematic unit a reality for my students who may never know what is outside their neighborhoods. Let's open their mind to the possibilities of this project.
