Dash and Dot Robots Wonder Pack |
Why I need this: At Elmwood Elementary in Zion District 6, we are requesting 10 Dash and 5 Dot robots to enrich our STEM and computer science instruction through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. As a Title I school, many of our students face economic and educational barriers, and these tools will provide equitable access to the type of high-quality, interactive learning that can spark curiosity and close opportunity gaps.
Dash and Dot robots support our students in building real-world skills like critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and coding—all through developmentally appropriate, play-based learning. Dash, the mobile robot, helps students program movement, sound, and lights using apps like Blockly and Wonder, while Dot provides additional challenge opportunities through logic-based problem-solving.
With over 20 students per class, having 10 Dash robots allows students to work in pairs for deeper engagement and shared learning. The 5 Dot robots will support coding challenges and station-based learning.
This technology will not only align with CSTA and ISTE standards but will also help us inspire lifelong learners, bridge the digital divide, and prepare our students for a future where tech literacy is essential. |
