Standards:

Goals:
1. To provide actual community resources and influences in a collaborative format between incarceration facilities which empower student attitudes and behaviors in a responsible, supported manner.
2. To expose, connect, and expand our students to socioeconomic, personal, vocational, health and wellness, and other skills and values the Seminole County Dividends provide.

HDC TM 40 Panasonic Camera - CCS Presentation Systems Vendor $279

DVDs $25

Procedures:
1. Staff/students will film scheduled Dividend presentations at Eugene Gregory.
2. Staff/students will then transfer the presentation from the camera to both DVD and SCPS Alternative Ed website.
3. Once the program is copied to DVD and distributed via the website, Individual presentations will be scheduled at John Polk Alternative Ed and Seminole County Detention Facility.
4. Students will view the speaker presentations at that time.
5. The instructor will signify talking points from the presentation to specific population and personal issues exisiting within these facilities.
6. Discussions of the speaker will ensue at analyze aspects of the presentation.
7. Students will then attempt to complete a Reflection Worksheet and apply concepts to their own lives
8. Students will finalize the lesson by writing Thank You letters to the speaker utilizing sincerity and comprehensive understanding of the speakers' personal perspective.

Closing: Students state a potential and positive future outcome for themselves if they apply speaker principles.

Comments
This is a highly collaborative effort on behalf of John Polk, Seminole County Detention, Eugene Gregory, SCPS Dividends, and Seminole County Sheriff Department in order to bring viable services to our populations to which other SCPS students already have access.
