School: Greenville High School, Greenville, AL
Planned By: Stephanie Grayson
Original Author: Stephanie Grayson, Greenville
Learning Objectives: Students will be able to:
1) interpret and analyze text.
2) use a Google form to demonstrate understanding and to publish analysis of the selected
text.
3) collaborate with other students to edit analysis of selected text.
4) present text analysis to class using a document camera.

Learning Activity Strategies: The students will:
1) individually read an assigned text selection.
2) complete a Google form to analyze the selected text. This Google Form must be prepared
by the teacher. Some sample questions include: identify the speaker; from what point of view is
the poem told; determine the tone/mood of the selection; identify any conflicts; identify any
figurative language used in the selected literature and tell why you think the author decided to
use that type of figurative language in his selection etc... (see notes below on subject/grade
variations).
3) print completed Google Form.
4) partner with a classmate to discuss the selected text and edit the analysis using a rubric.
5) make adjustments to analysis according to partner work and reprint.
6) present analysis to the class using a document camera.

Advance Teacher Preparation: select text, create Google Forms and create/choose a rubric, have
access to a classroom set of Chromebooks and document camera.

Variation Tips: This can be used by students in grades 3-12. The teacher has the choice to create grade
and subject appropriate questions to use on the Google Form.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This can be used by students in grades 3-12. The teacher has the choice to create grade and subject appropriate questions to use on the Google Form. Because Google Forms can be shared, teachers can create a form to compare subject matters from different classes. For example, history and English classes can discuss how the culture and ways of particular time period is illustrated in an author's work and/or what historical events took place to help shape and mold the author's way of thinking about the text.
Follow-Up
After presentations, students may reflect on what they learned from other students about the selected text.
Materials: Integrating Technology, Internet Services, Printers, Projector Screens, Portable, Mobile Labs
