Coil vase decorated in ancient designs of world ceramic cultures

1. Get 10 pounds of clay and wedge
2. take 1 1/2 lbs and press into a small boul with a cloth in
it. then blow dry until it will hold its shape and take out
3.Extrude the rest of the clay in to long ropes 1/2" thick
4. start puttings coils on to bowl going out at first, smooth and dry a little. then put coils on going inward, smooth and dry a little. then go sraight up with 3-4 coils for the neck. then end with one large coil for the lip.
5. While still damp, brush with black under glaze.
6. Select cultural designs from the books from world cultures of ancient ceramics
7. trace or draw designs onto vase repeating design going around laterally.
8. Incise designs so that some of the clays shows.
When done let dry. Fire when totally dry. Take home
with matt finish or cover with two coats of clear glaze
for a shiney finish and refire.
