Objective: To show the influence of Greek Architecture in our community.

Classroom teacher uses a power point presentation to introduce the topic of Greek Architecture. She focuses on columns and what the purpose of columns were.
Discuss the different types of columns, and the characteristics of each.
After one or two lessons, using the internet for research,
the class takes a walking tour of the neighborhood to search for buildings with columns.
They use worksheets with diagrams to determine what types of columns they find.
They use digital cameras to photograph the columns in the neighborhood.

The art teacher helps the children construct a model of a prominent building with columns, using clay,cardboard tubes, paint, etc.

The technology teacher shows the children how to transfer the photographs that the children took with the digital camera onto the computer.
With the help of the technology teacher, students create a powerpoint presentation using the information they learned. They learn how to insert the photos into the slideshow.
Display the model of the building and the powerpoint presentation in the main entrance hall of the school for all to see.
