A Photographic Keepsake Page Views: 330

Upon receiving our digital lab, students will learn the proper way to handle their cameras.
As part of language arts lessons, teacher will set aside a time frame for which students my visit favorite teachers, classrooms, administrators,etc., as they collect photographs which will serve as their memories of being a part of this elementary school.
As students compile their photographs, they will begin to use them as they write descriptively about their experiences with each subject of the photo.
Students will use computers and software to create photographic keepsakes which they will have to remember their elementary experience.
Students will share their keepsakes with parents upon graduating from fifth grade.
Standards addressed with this project: Create informational pieces such as book reviews and newsletter articles that use language appropriate for the specific audience. 5-5.2 Create narratives that have a fully developed plot and a consistent point of view. 5-5.3 Create written descriptions using precise language and vivid details. 5-5.4 Create written pieces such as picture books, comic books, and graphic novels to entertain a specific audience.
5-6 The student will access and use information from a variety of sources 5-6.8 Select appropriate graphics, in print or electronic form, to support written works and oral and visual presentations
