Lesson Plan:
Supplies: • Olympus FE 310 Education Kit • Printer • Picture paper • Current magazines
Objectives: • Students will demonstrate accurate knowledge of Character traits
• Students will demonstrate proper use of Camera and all accessories.
Procedures: Day 1- Display pictures of current people in media and discuss their image. Have students define character traits both good and bad. Have students bring in picture(s) of those they look up to.
Day 2-3: Have class discussion about pictures brought to class. Do the people in the pictures have positive or negative Character Traits? How do you know this? Does the picture demonstrate a positive or negative trait?
Day 4: Demonstrate how to use the camera. Allow each student to take a picture download and print.
Day 5: Divide class into groups. Each group will make a list of what they believe to be five top character traits. They will decided, as a group, how that trait is represented. They will then each sign up to check out the camera for 1-2 days to capture their examples within their school
Day 6-7: Once each group has been able to capture and print their pictures, they will bring them back to the class and share them with everyone. They will be able to answer all of the following questions about each of their photographs. Do the people in the pictures have a positive or negative Character Traits? How do you know this? Does the picture demonstrate a positive or negative trait?
