Time: Two – Five classroom sessions.

Procedures:
1) Students will venture into a local wildlife preservation area and photograph as many different species as possible.
2) Students will use field guides, online resources and textbooks to identify each of the species “discovered”.
3) Students can use PC software to design and print a comprehensive field guide of the preserve.
4) Field guides can be organized taxonomically or other logical arrangement as designed by the students
5) Field guides can be as complex or simple as appropriate for the grade level.
6) Completed field guides could be posted online for use by the school district and/or local community.
