1. In small groups students will create a Know/Need to Know list about the staff. (What they know about the staff and what they would like to know about the staff)
2. From this list each group will generate a list of questions to ask a staff memeber.
3. The groups will then examine sample interviews of J. K. Rowling.
4. Each group will create a list of questions from the sample interview that they found to be most interesting and which gave the most information.
5. Groups will research what makes a good interview by checking the internet.
6. After examining the Know/Need to Know list, sample interview, and finally interview research, each group will create at least 10 interview questions to ask a specific staff member.
7. Each group will contact the staff member to schedule an interview time.
8. The interview will be videotaped and a photograph of the staff member will be taken.
9. After the interview, the interview will be transcribed in written format using a computer.
10. Each group will put the photograph of the staff member, a video clip of the interview, and biographical information on the school website.
Follow-Up
Students will be creating a digital portfolio. This will be a good introduction into pertinent biographical information, video editing, and digital photography.
