Huskies on the Hunt

This lesson is for a special needs classroom. Our school mascot is a Husky.

Objectives:
Pair upper class students with the younger students to build citizenship.
Younger students will be exposed to the different parts of the building and learn the layout of their school which will build a sense of school community.
All students will be exposed to and learn different forms of digital imaging imaging.

Materials:
Scavenger Hunt Sheet
Digital Camera
Computer
Presentation Software

Mehtodology:
Students will be placed in groups of two (plus at least on para pro).
Students will receive a school scavenger hunt and a digital camera.
Together they will have to hunt for the items on the sheet and record their findings with the digital camera.
Upon completion of the hunt students will learn to tranfer their pictures from the camera to the computer.
The students will then use their pictures to create a presentation for their peers.

Assessment:
Due to this being a special needs classroom, grade will be a credit/no credit.
Students will present to their classmates.
