The is an individual or small group project and can be used for virtually any country. It is specifically aligned with Economics and Geography Grad Standards for Minnesota.

1. Research Phase- Take the research questions and collect notes.

Research Questions
Use the CIA world fact book to determine: the birth and death rates for Greece
What languages are spoken in Greece, break this down by regions of the country.
How many people from Greece have immigrated to the United States over time?
What about life in Greece made them want to leave?
What about life in the United States drew them here?
Describe what life is like for a teenager in Greece, what do they wear, what music do they listen to, movies, and technology? Where does this come from Europe? The United States? How long does it take to spread to Greece? Why?
How is the landscape of Greece influenced by the culture? (architecture, infrastructure, monuments, agriculture)
Describe the EU and its pros and cons. How has the independence of Greece as a country been affected by its participation in the EU?
Describe how the city of Athens is set up. How does this compare with other large cities in the world?
How have the improvement of transportation and communication changed different regions of Greece?
Use common statistical measures of the population or economy to determine how Greece compares to other developed countries. (birth rates, death rates, infant mortality, per capita GDP, average income, women in the workforce) Why do these indicate that a country is developed? Use graphs and charts to show this data.
How productive are workers in Greece? How is this determined? Why is this important?
What would happen to the standard of living of people in Greece if productivity increased? Decreased?
Does the government of Greece have a deficit or a surplus? What does this do over time?
Is Greece in a recession, depression or expansion? How would you measure that?
Does Greece have a positive or negative balance of trade? How is this determined?
How does the Greek government regulate economic transactions?
Make a list of the 5 places in Greece you would most like to visit and why?

2. Collection and Editing Phase - Student will create a finished product demonstrating knowledge of research (powerpoint, project cube, poster, etc...)

3. Demonstration Phase - Student will present to the teacher or to the class
