Original Author: Charlette Roddy, Orange
We will use animation to develop book trailers, movies and short stories with required reading material for students in grades 9-12. Our students will begin to explore the story they are reading, expanding their retention and knowledge of the subject matter. We will begin to show the students that reading is exciting! Each month we will have a universal book for each grade level and during their library instruction hour, we will teach the students how to make animated short stories, book trailers and movies with the book. This will enhance their retention and grade while making reading fun. We will also allow them to pick a book, of their own choice, and create a animated story for extra credit. We will change the face of library instruction. Giving the students much needed tools for career and college.
