School: Haines Elementary School, New Lenox, IL
Planned By: Barb Mores
Original Author: Barb Mores, New Lenox
Students will read "Punished" by David Lubar.

The students will then go in search of oxymorons, palindromes, and idioms throughout the school. When they find one, they are to videotape and explain what they've found.

For example: Idiom-don't cry over spilt milk. A student spilled their milk in the lunchroom and it is recorded as an idiom. Students will give literal and intended meaning of the idiom.

Another example: Palindromes- Students will videotape students' nametags that are palindromes, such as Hannah.

Movie can go all year with students finding these literary terms.
