School: Reese Middle School, Reese, MI
Planned By: Jodi Haubenstricker
Original Author: Jodi Haubenstricker, Reese
Students will be allowed to choose groups of 2 or 3 students (odd number may have 4). Students choose a topic from our unit on Internet Safety and write a proposal to the teacher, to be given permission to pursue that project.

Once students are granted approval they will work in groups creating their story boards (outlines) of what their commercial will entail with very specific details.

Students will then create approximately 30 second commercials using Flip cameras to record and Windows Movie Maker to edit those projects.

Upon final completion the videos will be given to another class for them to incoroporate one or two per week in their broad cast of "Student News". These broadcasts will air each friday for the entire school, grades 5-8.
Follow-Up
Students will view each commercial as a class, have class discussions on the quality of the commercials as well as the content and how it applies to what they have covered within the Internet Safety Unity
