Objectives: To research a country and describe its foods, customs, and points of interest; to practice searching the web to find information; to learn the geographical locations of countries around the world.

1. Each student will choose a country and search the web for information pertaining to the chosen country. Information is recorded in a Microsoft Word document.
2. Each student will describe the country with words and short phrases by typing the information into the Wordle program, listing the name of the country in capital letters.
For ex., KENYA, East Africa, many tribal languages, English=national language, Kenyan Shilling=currency, chapati=common food, etc.
3. Each student will choose a wordle design with font style and color.
4. Each student will print his/her wordle to display by a world map.
5. Each student may share about his or her country with other students in the class.

My third graders did this project as part of "Heritage Week" in the spring of 2011.
