Technology Procedures:
Teacher: Be sure to review the selected software before beginning this project.
Spend 2-3 days teaching the software. Use a projector to demonstrate how to use the software. Review basic camera and imaging skills. Give students time to practice these skills.

Writing Procedures:
Teacher will review the steps of the writing process.
Show examples of stories that relate to classroom material.
Examples: Skittles Riddles Math by Barbara Barbieri McGrath , M&M’s Brand Chocolate Candies Math by Barbara Barbieri McGrath and Roger Glass

• Teacher and students will brainstorm ideas for their story.
• Students will write their stories on paper before going to the computer.
• Students will type and edit their story.
• Students will come up with ideas for their pictures to illustrate their story.
• Students will use cameras to take pictures. Have the students take pictures in the classroom, at home or around campus. (Teacher should review the photographs.)
• Teacher and students will upload images to the computer for editing.
• Students will edit photos and add them to their storybook.
• Students will print and bind their story.
• Students will create a short presentation using PowerPoint, Keynote or Photo Story.
• Students will present their work to the class.


Assessment:
Create a rubric to evaluated the students’ presentations and completed story books
Teacher observations during the process and the presentations.
