I am fundraising for 15 chrome books for my 6th grade class at Lincoln Bassett Community School. My school serves students that are bright, curious, insightful, and clever. Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds and many of my students have experienced a great deal of trauma. These students show up to school with a smile on their face and an appetite for learning as much as possible. Sadly, they have very little access to technology and it's holding them back from reaching their full academic potential. This is especially unacceptable provided that my students are just as deserving as their wealthier peers who do have access to computers in school. My students are falling farther and farther behind in computer and technical literacy because the computers that my school does offer need to be shared amongst many classrooms and are very outdated. 15 computers will give my students the opportunity to learn languages, coding skills, and will enrich our current history and literature curriculum with research projects.
