Our school media center needs tablets to help our student researchers! All students work on a big research project each year. Students use online databases such as World Book Student, Kids Info Bits, and SIRS Discoverer to find information about a variety of topics. Students learn to search the databases, take notes, cite their sources, and write a summary of their research. Students type their final copy and paste their sentences into a hard cover blank book. They decorate their book and display their work in our annual Literacy on the Lawn event at the end of each school year. In order to successfully learn research skills, we are in need of 10 tablets to be used by students in the Media Center to access these databases.
