My students need 10 Android tablets, a charging box, cases, headphones, and other classroom technology in order learn how to research, collaborate, and solve problems, which will equip them with skills needed for college and beyond.

This project will allow my class to complete projects in all subjects using technology. While I am working hard to help close the achievement gap, I, too, understand that these are students who will work in a digital world. It is imperative that students learn how to use technology to solve real world problems and present information.
My students' success depends greatly on their ability to compete upon graduation. The 10 Android tablets, a charging box, cases, headphones, and other materials will allow technology to be used as a tool for learning. I plan to create projects that require students to use the camera to interview other students and staff, social studies and science research, access weather forecasts and alerts, architectural designs in math, and creating newscasts and fables in ELA.

Your donations will help us get the materials we need to be successful. Not only will students be learning, but they will be more vested in their own learning. The tablets will be used as recording devices for projects throughout the year. Specifically, students will be recording their very own news broadcast and editing it for the school to view. Students will use the tablets to conduct research for social studies and science related research papers. The classroom computer scientists will be responsible for helping me with the maintenance of the tablets. During small groups, students will use the tablets to access math and ELA practice sites.
