Please help my classroom grow into a more flexible learning space, that is suited to ALL levels of learner, from preK to 8th graders.

Each week, I teach computer classes to almost 350 students, ranging from preK students learning to click on icons to 8th graders taking high school computer science. I also teach middle school math students daily. What else happens in the lab? I see our Gifted pull-out class, our junior robotics team meetings, and our academic team practices, not to mention afterschool tutoring.

Our students are amazing - we are a small Title I school, with a diverse population. We try to offer lots of opportunities for every student, and I would love to see our technology offerings enter the 21st century!

The computer lab needs to meet many needs - right now, it is NOT a flexible space, and the heavy equipment on folding tables does not make it a friendly design for small children OR for older students who need to work on group projects, or spread out to think math.

Replacing our bulky and obsolete tower computers/peripherals with a Chromebook cart is a huge step in transforming the classroom space to become usable in many different ways.

Cross-curricular projects, programming projects, math small group work - all these require space for students to gather, write and plan. Chromebooks allow the space to flex for student needs and accommodate many different uses in the course of a week.
